The purpose of this endowed fund is to provide financial assistance to students in the Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies who are currently studying a language. It is the Donor’s preference that this endowed fund be used to support students studying Category III or IV languages listed by the United States’ Department of State’s foreign language training program, which may include: Albanian, Amharic, Arabic, Armenian, Azerbaijani, Bengali, Bulgarian, Burmese, Chinese, Czech, Estonia, Farsi, Finnish, Georgian, Greek, Gujarati, Hausa, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Icelandic, Japanese, Kazakh, Khmer, Korean, Kurdish, Lao, Latvian, Lithuanian, Macedonian, Mongolian, Nepali, Pashto, Polish, Russian, Serbo Croatian, Sinhala, Slovak, Slovenian, Somali, Tagalog, Tajiki, Tamil, Telugu, Thai, Tibetan, Turkish, Ukrainian, Urdu, Uzbek, or Vietnamese.
