Civil Globally, the appropriate use of water is challenged by droughts, multiple-objective water allocation and climate-change impacts, among other hydrology and clean water problems. This fund supports Civil and Environmental Engineering graduate students working in this critical field.

An endowed fund created on the 100th anniversary of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering that supports student projects (such as Concrete Canoe and Steel Bridge) and instructional innovation.

For renovation and improvements of More Hall and other capital improvements at the discretion of the department.

Geotechnical engineers evaluate the land and its ability to support structures. In an area susceptible to earthquakes and landslides like the Pacific Northwest, appropriate construction materials and methods are critically important. This fund supports graduate student education and research in Geotechnical Engineering within the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. This is the Robert D. Holtz Fellowship.

Founded through a gift from the Seattle Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the endowment awards scholarships to Civil and Environmental Engineering students who demonstrate the values of volunteerism and service that honor the lives of Larry and Judy Wade. Preference is given to a student who participates in the activities of the University of Washington Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

This fund provides support for College of Engineering students in systems engineering. It is named in honor of Brian Mar, Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

To support an annual public lecture by distinguished practitioners in the field of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

The purpose of this fund is to provide financial assistance to undergraduate students in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering with a preference for first generation college students.

To promote and fund the exchange of graduate students in civil and environmental engineering and built environments including architecture, urban design and planning, landscape architecture and construction management between the University of Washington and programs in the Nordic countries.

To support graduate students pursuing transportation studies in civil engineering, urban planning, geology, or related fields. Preference for WA St. Dept. of Transportation employees, retirees, or members of their immediate families.

Memorial gifts honoring the life of Bill Shannon (BS 1936) will provide financial assistance to deserving geotechnical graduate students in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering.
