Information School Scholarship Fund

The Information School's Annual Fund for Student Scholarship, or iSCHLR, provides essential support to current and incoming students. This includes providing tuition assistance to students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds as well as merit awards so the School can attract the best and brightest scholars to study. In addition, gifts to this fund help cover the costs of education not included in tuition like participating in a student club or traveling and presenting at a conference.

Earl Borgeson Research in Law Librarianship Award

The Borgeson Award was established to promote the UW Law Librarianship Program and to encourage scholarly research that will enhance the profession. Students submit papers about important contemporary topics affecting law librarianship. These papers are then reviewed by panel of nationally-renowned law librarians, who select the award recipient. The winning paper is also published in Legal Reference Services Quarterly (LSRQ).

The Sylvia Lake Finely Multiethnic Fellowship provides fellowships for minority students in the Information School's master of library and information science (MLIS) program. The endowment was established in 1975 with funds raised by the School's alumni who were concerned about the small number of minority students enrolled in the MLIS program. In 1982 the Lake family made a substantial contribution to the fund, and the fellowship was renamed in memory of their daughter, Sylvia Lake Finley ('74).
