Walter Remak Scholarship Fundshow description Add to my gifts
Walter Remak (1915-2006) liked to say that South Africa gave him his dignity and his career. As a 21-year-old German Jew, he fled to South Africa in 1936 and fought the Nazis in the South African Army. He loved the country that had taken him in, and in 1995 he established a scholarship for South African students here at the School, asking that they return home to help others with their new skills.
